Women's rights over the last 50 years
We in the United States think that there is not much discrimination
against women, but in other countries there is.
declaration of sentiments
This cite is how about the injustices that women had
rights in China
Rights in China are not so good for women, because
they don't have many rights.
for Gender Equality
cite talks about things done to women in different countries.
I found out many things that I didn't know about women's
rights. The Declaration of Sentiments, written by Elizabeth Staton, was
about the injustices that women had to face in the past. One of the
things that she said was that when women were married they were dead in
the eyes of the law. Women in China were beaten when caught stealing,
then they were caged with a dog. Women in Afghanistan are also beaten
for violating a stict Taliban dress code (cover up from head to toe).
The 19th amendment guaranteed women citizens the right to vote. The
women have gone a long way because now we are almost up there with men.
Women around the world are promoted in their jobs, still women encounter
barriers of economic, political, and social discrimination. Hopefuly
in the future ther will be no barriers or glass ceilings.
